Description
Agave
Agave was rescued when she was 3 weeks old. She was found by the Salt River Wild Horse Management Group (SRWHMG) without her mother and being harassed by a group of bachelors. She was very weak from a severe sand impaction. The SRWHMG monitored her. When the band did not return and her health deteriorated at an alarming rate they made a concentrated effort to rescue her from certain death. Her recovery was slow... challenging with impactions, ulcers and a very poor appetite. At times the SRWHMG was not sure she was going to make it. However, the Group persevered and Agave is now a healthy and happy mare living at the SRWHMG's Rescue Facility with her best friend Nakota (another rescued foal, with a story of her own). The photo is of Agave today sporting a quizzical expression or some say looking for the next thing to get in to... 🙂
