A Costas Hummingbird enjoys the nectar from a Chuparosa flower at the gardens of the Joshua Tree National Park's visitor center in Twentynine Palms, California, USA. The Costa's and Anna's Hummingbirds stay all year round in Twentynine Palms.

Framed photographs of my six siblings and I adorned in 60s style outfits, hairdos and pointedly colorful eye glasses were prominently displayed in the home I grew up in. The happy memories of these photos, coupled with my newfound love of grandchildren and passion for nature drove me to purchase a digital camera.
